MP3 Ripping Software

Here are the most popular programs right now for ripping your CD collection.

AudioGrabber

AudioGrabber v1.83

This is freeware software at this point. Jackie Franck is the developer, and we believe is still working on a new version. Either way, it is probably the best for single purpose ripping available to this day. It's simple to use, yet offers many options. It uses FreeDB for it's track and album lookups.

MusicMatch

MusicMatch 10

MusicMatch bills itself as a jukebox player, which it does, but most use it for MP3 ripping. It tries to compete with Windows Media Player in the jukebox arena, which it does, but not as well. It's not surprising, since Microsoft goes out of it's way to make any competition eat dirt. It's a great ripper, although very bloated these days. It uses Gracenote's CDDB service to look up tracks and album information.

Yahoo owns the company now, so hopefully, they will be able to compete again, and lose the bloat...
