BPM ProScan is a utility
program, that allows you to scan folders of MP3
files for beats per minute, then save that
information to the file tag. It has a number of
options, as well as the ability to export the list
to a text file for printing, or later reference.
Using the fast scan option makes it much quicker,
and is useful if the tracks are basic dance type -
use the full scan option for more complex files.

MixMeister's BPM
Analyzer is similar to BPM ProScan above. One
main difference, is that this one always writes
the tag data in UNICODE format, so be sure your
DJ software can read UNICODE tag data. It can
also export a list to be printed out.

MP3Gain
A must have program
for computer DJs! MP3Gain will analyze your MP3
music files, and allow you to set them all at a
comparable volume level, so you don't have to
constantly ride the gain sliders. It does a very
good job, and the best part is the operation is
undoable, if you want to revert back to the way
it was! If you are a digital DJ, you need this
program. |

MDIS
Price: Free Website:
SoftJock.Com
MDIS stands for My
Disk Is Spinning. It's a utility program that is
used to keep external (or internal) hard drives
from spinning down. Many drives will spin down
to conserve energy, which is a great idea,
unless you happen to be a digital DJ, and are in
the middle of a show! You start this program,
choose the drive, and start the timer - it then
accesses the drive every 3 minutes (that is
adjustable as well), which keeps the drive from
spinning down, which can cause delays when
loading songs. |
